Elegant Timeless Strapless Straight Neckline Silk and Floral Lace Fit and Flare Wedding Dress
This Saks Fifth Avenue by Melissa Sweet gown is classic, pure elegance. It’s stunningly chic and will beautifully fit your every curve to create a memorable, head-turning entrance.
The fit and flare silhouette is made of silk charmeuse with a beautiful handmade French lace overlay from top to bottom. The ivory ribbon is woven throughout the lace at the mid-section bodice and along the top hemline creating a beautiful scalloped edge. It’s incredibly figure-flattering, and you’ll feel truly amazing in it. Not to mention so light and comfortable - making it perfect for an evening of dancing.
Color: The lace overlay is a tad off-white/ivory and the slip underneath is cream. You notice how creamy it looks in the second picture where the dress is hanging in front of the window (because you're really seeing the material underneath the lace show through), but as you can see when the dress is on me, like in the first color image where I'm standing outside in the sun, it looks off-white. So, it won't look stark white if you were to put it next to a white wedding gown, but it doesn't scream cream either when it's on you.
Alterations: I had a bustle added to the train, which came out perfectly. I do believe that the dress was taken in at the bust, waist, and maybe a bit in the hips. My measurements at the time of the wedding are listed below for accuracy :).
Fit & Sizing: Here are my measurements, but my thought - because of the material - is there’s room in this sheath gown to fit someone with measurements 2 to 3 inches bigger or smaller than me without alterations and still have a great fit.
Bust: 34 C
Waist: 27
Hips: 37
Height: 5' 6 1/2" (I wore 3" heels)
Condition: The dress has been professionally cleaned and is in great condition! There are no stains or rips. All pictures of the dress (and veil) not being worn by me are pictures that were taken to showcase the current condition. :)
Accessories: The 89” veil (purchased with the gown at Saks) is also available per request - and goes so beautifully with this gown. They are truly stunning together! I absolutely fell in love with all 89 inches of its exquisite detail. The intricate scallops really make it special and frame your face beautifully while the precisely placed crystals and stones sparkle, adding the perfect touch of glamour. (I bustled it after the ceremony because I couldn’t part with it for the reception).
